Jesse Fox is a recent graduate of Northern Kentucky University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in photography. Having spent most of her life in performing arts, a narrative and emotional element is important in her work. She likes to explore the feelings, secrets, fears and fantasies a person has throughout his or her life. Unfortunately, since life can't be as theatrical and colorful as plays or musicals, she likes to create an elaborate, fictional version of how interesting and beautiful she wishes life really were through her work.
In her four years behind a camera she has received three scholarships based on her portfolio at NKU, was the 2010 portraiture winner in the american photo on campus go pro competition and was awarded second place in 2012 & 2010 (#3 in 2011) in the "Best of Cincinnati" competition in the "Local Artist" category.
She has also had her work shown in several galleries throughout the United States, displayed work in the Pingyao International Photography Festival in China as well as in PhotoIreland Festival.
She actively works with various publications and has been published in CityBeat, Her Cincinnati, A-Line Magazine, Southern Indiana Fitness Source, Alternative Press, Eleven Magazine, Meets Obsession, Filigree and Senza Respiro.
Her drive, determination and unwillingness to settle for anything less than what she sets her mind to pushes Jesse to continuously be creating new work.
Though she has always enjoyed taking snapshots of her friends, she came to visual arts quite unintentionally. However, she soon realized it was where she was mean to be. Through her interest in photographing theatrical scenes, she began exploring the world of video and performance art in spring of 2010. through her experiences in this field is not (yet) extensive, it is definitely an art form she intends to continue pursuing.
